Study Guide --- MID-TERM EXAM

Hi there,

This is the bare minimum needed to do your mid-term exam successfully:

GRAMMAR

  • Present simple (Positive, negative and questions: I / you / we / they )
  • Present simple (Positive, negative and questions: he / she / it )
  • Present simple (Frequency adverbs: be + adverb /  adverb +  verb)
  • Present simple (Wh-questions)
  • Present simple (yes / no questions and short answers: yes, I do; no, he doesn't)

  • Past simple (Be:  was / were in positive & negative sentences as well as questions)
  • Past simple (Positive, negative and questions: regular verbs)
  • Past simple (Positive, negative and questions: irregular verbs)
  • Past simple (Wh-questions)
  • Past simple  (yes / no questions and short answers: yes, we did; no, you didn't)

SPOKEN INTERACTION

You can communicate in English by doing the following:
  • introduce yourself, say your age, spell your name & last name, ask how people are
  • ask and answer questions about yourself and other people, where you live, things you have
  • say how often you do things, talk about your routine
  • say what you like and don't like
  • give and receive information about quantities, numbers and prices
  • indicate time using phrases such as last Friday, in November, at 3:00 o'clock, on Monday
  • ask for repetition and help
